Notes:   Ben Kenobi's second lightsaber, constructed after the loss of his Padawan saber on Naboo, was a conservative, elegant weapon.  It served his purpose, but lacked the embellishments displayed by many of the other lightsabers.  Ben used his saber to defend himself and the dying Republic through the Clone Wars and the events that followed, but eventually went into hiding to escape Darth Vader's horrible persecution.  Ben sacrificed his corporeal life defending Luke Skywalker's escape from the first Death Star, but continued to help the fledgeling Jedi in his training in spirit form until Luke's final destiny with Emperor Palpatine.  Obi-Wan's saber was destroyed when the Death Star exploded over Yavin IV. 

This lightsaber, like Luke's, shows a distinct lack of added detail, making use only of what is needed.  Its only buttons are an on and off switch, but it also has an unusually side-mounted ring clip.
